Chris Shapard
Executive Director
Christine (Chris) Shapard is the Founding Executive Director of the Colorado Cleantech Industry Association. In addition to her role with CCIA, Christine is also an ex-officio member of Governor John Hickenlooper's Venture Capital Investment Advisory Committee and she chairs the Colorado Department of Labor’s Green Jobs Colorado Advisory Council (GJCAC).
Prior to her role with the CCIA, Christine was Deputy Director of the Colorado Bioscience Association (CBSA). Before joining the bioscience association, Shapard was director
of emerging technologies for the Colorado Office of Economic
Development and International Trade (OEDIT).
Prior to this role within OEDIT, Shapard was the Deputy Director
for international inward investment as part of the state's
International Trade Office. In that capacity, she promoted
Colorado for foreign investment and helped to organize overseas
trade missions and trade shows. She successfully helped arrange
former Governor Owens' trade missions to England, Northern
Ireland, Scotland, Japan, Mexico and Germany.
Ms. Shapard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and political
science from Grove City College in Western Pennsylvania.
Shelly Curtiss
Communications Director
Shelly joined the CCIA team in early 2009 after having spent 5 years with the World Trade Center Denver. In her role at the WTC Denver, Shelly worked to develop programs and services to promote the export of Colorado's products and services around the globe.
Prior to her work with the World Trade Center, Shelly spent eight years in the high-tech industry in roles within product management and marketing with Circadence Corporation, Qwest and US West.
Ms. Curtiss holds a MA in international economics and environmental policy from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies (formerly GSIS) and a BA in political science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
