Mike Devery
Market Manager, Silicon Valley Bank
Mike Devery is currently the market manager for Silicon Valley
Banks Rocky Mountain region. He is responsible for all of
the banks activities in the eight-state region that includes
Arizona, Colorado and Utah, states where the bank has physical
locations. A 12-year veteran of the bank, Devery was previously
a managing director for Silicon Valley Bank Capitals private
equity group, covering the central United States. SVB Capital
is the private equity arm of SVB Financial Group. The groups
family of funds exceeds $1.2 billion and includes funds of
funds, co-investment funds, venture debt funds and specialty
debt funds invested primarily on behalf of endowments and
foundations.
Prior to this role, Devery was manager of the banks Colorado
office from 1999 through 2004. He also served from 1996 to
1999 as a senior vice president and account officer in banks
Palo Alto-based software practice. He worked with notable
software companies such as Aurum Software, Chordiant Software,
Brio Software and Tumbleweed Communications. Prior to joining
Silicon Valley Bank, Devery spent three years with Union
Banks middle market group in San Francisco. He also served
for two years in Sony Musics New York-based finance department.
Devery earned a bachelors degree in finance from the University
of Colorado and a masters degree in business administration
from Thunderbird, the Garvin School of Management.
Devery is on the board of the Impact on Education, a not-for-profit
supplemental funding vehicle for public education where he
chairs the board development dommittee.
